I got ready at our ceremony venue! And DH/the guys got ready at DH’s parents house, where DH was staying the night before the wedding.

We’re getting ready at the ceremony venue. We have a hotel for the night before about 15 minutes from the ceremony but I don’t want to get ready in a hotel and don’t think there’s enough room in 1-2 rooms for all my BMS, me and the moms. If you’re getting ready at the hotel have more than one room so everyone isn’t crowed in the room and make sure the guys have somewhere to get ready.

We got ready at the ceremony venue as did the guys. The hotel was abt 30 minutes away. But heres our brief timeline

8 am – wake up at hotel, breakfast, shower, relax

1130 am – ladies go to pick up flowers, dudes had lunch

1 pm – ladies and my mom load up first shuttle with dresses and such, head to venue

1:30 arrive at venue, bring stuff in, set out snacks, hairdressers arrive and start work

1:30-4 – ladies get hair done, I get makeup done, snacking, dancing, getting dressed, etc

4pm – my dad and grooms party arrives. men sent to locker room to get ready, ladies have pics and i do my own fam pics

430 -we go back to bridal suite, guys do pics and groom family pics

5-530 coordinator gets everyone in place

530 ceremony starts…and the rest is all wedding stuff.

It made sense to us to be in the hotel the night before the wedding. We didn’t live much farther from the hotel than our venue, but we wanted to be with our wedding party and fam after rehearsal. And there were no concerns about traffic or anything. A regular hotel room would be really crowded, but if you have a large wedding suite in the hotel it might be okay! but getting ready at the venue worked well for us – no worrying about being on time or traffic or anything like that (dc area- all we worry about is traffic!)
