Getting Ready Outfit

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

Any suggestions about what to wear while I'm getting ready on the day of my wedding?  I've heard it's worth it to invest in something that you feel pretty in because the photographer will already be shooting.  I'd prefer something that doesn't say "bride" so I can wear it after the wedding, and also something that won't mess up my hair when it comes off.  Maybe a short sleeved hoodie type sweats outfit?  Any good finds out there bees?

I'm just planning on wearing something comfortable.  I'm going to be all doiled up the rest of the day, I can afford to be comfy in the morning.  Definitely a button down shirt, but other than that the most comfortable thing I can pull out of my closet.  Saving spending money on a new outfit for the rehearsal :)

I got all my bridesmaids cute robes for us to wear while getting ready.  Well a heat wave came through and the ACs couldn't keep up and I was dying in my robe.  One of my bridesmaids came to the rescuse, giving me the button up white shirt she was wearing!!  I love my friends!!  I have pics of me in the shirt, and it is fine.  Button up is great not to mess stuff up when you take it off and white is good so the makeup is done appropriately......

I'm probably going to be wearing a pair of jeans and a button up shirt, courtesy of my closet. I don't think it has to be anything fancy, just comfortable as HistoryBride said. :)

I wore a dress that I also wore for the morning-after brunch. It was a white cotton sleeveless dress that buttoned down the front all the way. So, easy to get in and out of, plus it was the right color for my makeup artist to work off of!

Something like this could be really cute, and only $34.50! http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=424&itemID=49205&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter=

someone also once recommended to me that you should wear something similar to the shade of your wedding dress so that you get your makeup done with the right shades.

I had packed up pretty much all of my clothes and sent it to my husband to be's abode, and my MOH was travelling, so since we both forgot about getting ready clothes that didn't have to by pulled over the head, I wore a giant men's dress shirt my brother had left in his childhood room, and my cousin was wearing a  random party dress borrowed from her sister.

I agree with being comfortable. I think a cute sweatsuit is always good. But if you're going to be wearing a tank top or something underneath, just make sure it's easy to get out of and not something that could mess up your hair & make-up. I also like those pictures where the bride & bridesmaids are wearing coordinating shower wraps like these: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=9C-220480&page=1&cgname=OSSLPRBEZZZ&rfnbr=5248

I personally wore a comfortable sundress that zipped up in the back so I could easily get out of it when it was time to change into my dress.
