Two hours, it’s all so much more rushed that you think it’s going to be.

Depends on how much coverage you want for it. Usually the ‘getting ready’ time is when the photographer does things like take pictures of the dress hanging up, bouquet/shoe/jewelry shots, a few pictures of the setting, and rings. Then after you get ready (best to assume you will be running 15 to 45 mins late – most brides do, so leave some time for this) the photographer will take bridal portraits and pictures with your maids/family, if you have them there.

If you just want pictures of the hair and makeup and a few other things then an hour should be fine (if you have two photographers this might be enough either way). If you want everything else, 1.5 to 2 hours might be better.

My photog has allowed 45 minutes for details (rings, dress, flowers etc) then another hour of us ‘getting ready, getting into dress etc’ and then about 20 or so minutes of general photos while we drink champers and wait to leave etc.

@beetobee255:  She got there two hours early to get pics of me getting dressed, first look, and bridal party photos. I wish I would have had more time because I felt rushed and we ended up running a little late. NOT at all the photographers fault. I would say if you are only trying to get pictures of you gettting ready than t to 2 hours should be fine. Hope this helps!

@beetobee255:  My photog will only be there at the tail end of us getting ready, so we only allocated around 30 minutes. She’ll get us w/ our hair and makeup finished, in our matching robes as well as the dress hanging up, my mom getting me into my dress…and that’s about it. Maybe some detail shots. I don’t need professional pics of me with no makeup on.

I think we had about 2 hours for those photos, but he had to hop around a bit because I was at the salon, my friends were in the hotel room, and then he got some of me in the room getting dressed.

We had 2 hours, but that also included the first look.  Probably 1.5 hours for all the getting ready, detail shots (rings / bouquet / dress / etc), hanging around with my mom and sister, etc.
