- Wedding: July 2012
So, yesterday I sat down with my family and came up with a game plan of things that I’m needing to book for our wedding as soon as possible. We came up with booking the venue, the photographer, the cake, and the florist. I didn’t realize that all of these things needed to be booked about a year in advance. The more websites I went to, the more I realized that I really need to start getting my research done for these big things. The thing that surprised me the most was having to book the florist this far in advance. The one that I really like so far says they only do one wedding per week. I love their prices and their creations look great too, so I’m hoping they’re booking for 2012 soon so I can nab them!
As for the photographer, I now have a great idea of what I’m looking for. I just want a basic package. The place I’ve found is just that. All they offer off the bat is wedding and reception coverage at $100 per hour, so we could get 8 hours of coverage for $800! If we wanted to do an engagement session with them, it would be $200. Anything you choose includes:
- One photographer plus assistance
- Photo DVD of all images
- Copyright Release on all photos
If you want an extra photographer, you can get one. They have products you can order through them, but my mom and I know great ways to get those things for much cheaper. Plus, that way we can get them however we want! I think this kind of package is best for us because, in the long run, I think it will save us money. The pictures are of great quality as well. You can also get a photo booth for $500 if we went that route. It’s less like a photo booth and more like a small studio that they set up with props. Each guest can create a personal message to accompany their photo (on their photo). Don’t know if I want that, but it’s worth asking about.
We have our consultation with them tonight at 5:30 P.M. I’m kind of excited. I feel like I’m actually getting rolling now, which is a lot of fun!
OH, and I sent an email to the coordinator at the venue we’ve chosen and I told him I wanted to book it! I cannot wait for him to get back to me! Once that is over, everything should go downhill from there *I hope*!
