sorry, I didn't have a deposit, but I did want to tell you maybe it's the post office's mistake? I had a horrible time when I moved about mail never making it to me, and it went on FOREVER with me finally lodging a formal complaint when all I wanted was my bills! lol sadly, I wasn't as organized as I should've been, and all these late bills cost me $ (I had no idea they weren't fwd'd at first, bc I actually got the confirmation from them they'd received my fwd'ing request...)
good luck either way!
Ask her how she sent it, and if she can provide you with a tracking number. If it was a check tell her you want her to cancel it and cut you a new one. Tell her you'll pay for cancellation fee. It's been long enough you should have it by now.
She should easily be able to see if that check was cashed or not, to prove that your not lying. Good luck.
Uh yeah, you should have that cancelled check. Granted mine came ripped up in a kind of creepy way with no note but I was thrilled to have it back. She could have ripped it into a million pieces; you just need to know that it has been cancelled. Whatever you do, do not put a stop payment on the check. There's all kinds laws about that could bite you in the behind.
Why don't you call to say that you are writing your venue review on XYZ web site and you can't write your glowing review until you have your check back? it's a little passive aggressive but most vendors work through word of mouth. Bottom line is you need the cancelled check back stat.
We didn't have a deposit, but if I were you, I'd call her back. If she really did send it, then she should have some sort of tracking number/info and you can contact FedEx or whatever. If not, then I'd ask her to cancel (or stop payment) on that check and cut you a new one. Is there any way that you can actually go to the venue and meet with her in person? That way she can hand you a check personally and you won't have to deal with any problems with the mail or whatever. If you can't do it, maybe a family member or good friend can?

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I got married in August and still haven't gotten my deposit back. I contacted her at the end of September, when I was told that they would be mailed out shortly. Well, I never got it. I emailed her again last night to remind her and tell her that I have a new address, she said that she sent it out in the middle of October. I replied to her, telling her that FI's grandmother lives at that house and she hasn't seen it. I have yet to get a response back from her.
How long did it take for you to get your deposit back? I'm getting really frustrated because we could really use that money right now.
