Has anyone been to a wedding there recently? We left a deposit at Glen Island Harbor Club for August of 2013, but due to their minimum guest count (200 ouch!), we’re seriously second guessing our decision. Giando’s view is unbeatable, the location is super hip and cool and I think could make for a beautiful wedding. The only thing that’s holding me back from booking is the quality of their food. Can anyone enlighten me on it? Also, did anyone use the wedding cake they provide?

I’ve heard terrible things about the food at Giandos, and never anything good about it, so we passed on Giandos.

I’ve been to Giando’s for a bar mitzvah and a graduation party. The view is spectacular, but its sort of in the midde of nowhere, and the food is just ok. It also seems a bit dated inside in my opinion. I have not been to Glen Island.

@Meriweather: We just left a deposit at Giando’s last week and had dinner there the same night. I really liked the food and so did my mom (who can be a bit of a food snob). The view is amazing and I can’t wait for our big day. I was told the wedding cake comes from Villabate-Alba which is actually the bakery that my mom used to get my birthday cakes from when I was 1 year old. The manager, Joe, was very accomodating and made us feel like family.
Hope this helps!

@BKBride2014: I hope it works out for you! Please keep us posted – I’ve heard the regular menu and catering tastings are at a much higher level than the actual catering. I am SUPER jealous of the Villabate cake – yum!

Thanks ladies for all your input! We decided to go with Glen Island, we just had a better overall feeling, especially when it came to the management and quality of the food. It was vey hard letting go of Giando’s because of that view, but when it comes to our wedding day, I just don’t want to worry! Good luck to all of you 🙂
