KittyCatToe:  I would probably bring a card and a small gift.  I normally wouldn’t do gifts at a vow renewal, but 50 years is a pretty big milestone.

KittyCatToe:  A gift certificate to dinner and the movies.

KittyCatToe:  I guess it depends on how close you are to them, but something like a picture frame or a mini photobook of them as a couple throughout the years (obviously you’d have to be pretty close to them to do this), or even a bottle of wine, toasting flutes, etc.  I think anything that could help them remember the day or something they could enjoy together would suffice.  I don’t think a gift is mandatory in this situation though.

I see this more as a 50th anniversary with a vow renewal, not a vow renewal with a 50th anniversary.  It’s a pretty big deal.

I would get them a small gift, like a nice bottle of wine or a gift certificate for dinner.
