I got my future in-laws a nice 8x10 frame for a wedding photo. I got my MIL a handkerchief to use on the wedding day and keep as a memento, and I got FIL a set of pub glasses. Simple, but items that they both appreciate/enjoy.
I have the same dilemma, don't know what to get them, especially since they are actually paying for the wedding...I want to get them something special.
I'm not gonna give my FILs or my mother anything the night of the rehersal, After the wedding, when I get my photographer cds back I'm going to print them a copy of our best picture or their favorite and frame it. That will be their gift. my FILs have had 2 children get married and NONE have given them a picture (which they openly bitched about). For christmas I'm going to make them a photobook of our engagement pictures and of our pictures of our wedding.
Our dads are both hard to shop for, so rather than getting separate gifts for moms and dads, we got each set of parents a gift certificate for the restaurant where we're getting married, so they can go back later and have a romantic dinner on us.

Did you get a gift for FMIL or FFIL to give them on your wedding day or at your rehearsal dinner?
My FILs have been wonderful and helpful through this whole process, and its been especially great because my own parents live out of state. I'd love to get them something special to acknowledge combining our families and as a thank you for their help and generosity! For his mom, I was thinking about getting her a piece of jewelry that incorporates an element of my wedding day jewelry (gray pearls). For his dad, I'm just stuck! Any ideas?
