We’re starting to think of thank you gifts for our parents, and I came across this miniature tea cup necklace from Etsy.
It looks exactly like my mom’s Fine China, Royal Doulton Old Country Rose.
I grew up always wanting my own set of Royal Doulton, and last Friday my mom took me and Office Groom out to pick out our own set – which she is paying for entirely!
So, the necklace would have a special meaning to it. What do you think as a gift to my mom for the wedding? I’m just worried that it’s not a “grown up” piece of jewellry, and not something she would necessarily want to wear on the wedding day. But I think she’d wear it for other occassions.

Adorable! Precious! So much sentamental meaning behind it. It’s perfect. Get it for her!!
Personally, I really like giving/receiving gifts at weddings that are NOT wedding related. One of my biggest pet peeves is receiving a Bridesmaid or Best Man “gift” of earrings, etc. that I am then expected to wear the next day at the wedding… That screams controlling bride!

I like the sentiments behind it.

LOL…farfromchildbride…I guess I’m a combination of both then…I bought each of my BMs crystal necklaces and earrings that they could wear for the wedding (and of course for any other occassion)

I think it’s really great!

i think it’s nice! our mom’s were taking too long picking out their dresses so we ended up buying jewelry before they got them, just nice jewelry that we knew they’d like, not for the wedding.

Okay OfficeBride, I’m chewing my shoe leather right now. Sorry!! Hope I didn’t offend. 🙂 Judging from the tea cup necklace, I’m sure your Bridesmaid or Best Man jewelry is lovely!!!!!!!
