if you have or about to have a baby, what would you love to receive? my SIL just had a baby, complicated c-section, they’re going back home thursday and i’d love to send them something that they’ll enjoy a lot
4 pints of ice cream are already on the way!
(it has to be something that I can ship cause they live in NY and I live in NC)

One of my favorite gifts was books for the baby. I used them for years, and thought of my sister every time I read those books because she gave them to us. You could order some nice books off Amazon, and have them delivered to her.
Another nice gift is good baby care items (lotion, bath wash, etc.) Abe’s Market on-line has great baby care items.
If you are a DIY, my aunt made my daughter a blanket that she still uses today (as a lap blanket now, because she’s 10). It is a great keepsake for her.
I hope that helps! Congrats on the new niece/nephew!

Baby clothes, diapers, wipes are always useful. I sent my SIL a gift certificate to the spa for when she was post C-section ready for some relaxation. My SIL and bro enjoyed gift cards to their favorite restaurants – easy for bro to pick up in the evening while SIL was out of commission.

Send someone to make them dinner because they will be EXHAUSTED!! But seriously, I like the idea of books. My siblings and I have tons of books from birth, Christmas, birthdays, etc. Anytime we got a book, whoever gave it to us wrote a nice little note in the front cover. I don’t have any kids yet, but I like to look back and read the notes from my family. And I can’t wait to be able to read the same books to my kids knowing the love that went in to picking them out.

Another thing I would look at would be a maid service to come clean their house — even if it’s just once, it will probably be VERY well-received! I planted that seed in my parents’ heads yesterday, haha. People with new babies absolutely do not have time to clean the house, and if they’re like me and really like it clean, then the mess will just depress them even more! Usually, a single house-cleaning isn’t too expensive and will be a very popular gift!
