What's the budget? I think a gift taking into account her interests is always nice. For example, if she likes watching musicals, two great seats to a show along with a gift certificate to a nice restaurant nearby. Or maybe a reoccuring gift (e.g. she's an avid gourment so having a basket of fresh fruit and cookies delivered each month for a year). You can ask her son/daughter if there are any artists that she likes in particular and if so, purchase a piece of artwork by said artist.
good luck!

We are really really lucky. One of my students' mothers is a fantastic photographer, and she is taking our wedding photos for free. She also did an engagement session with us, and designed a beautiful, vintage-y photo invitation for our wedding. My FI and I are totally stumped as to how we thank someone for a gift like this! Any suggestions? Thanks a million...
