We just plan on giving him some $. Maybe 200 or so. I think this is customary. Good question about when to give it...I'm curious to hear what other Catholic bees have done.
I think it the best idea is to give them $ as well. They can decide what to do with it.
My dad handed our priest $200 after the ceremony was over. It's pretty customary to give priests a monetary gift, since they basically preform the ceremony and preparation for free.
Are you asking about giving a tangible gift, though? I haven't heard about giving anything other than money, but if you're very close with your priest, he might appreciate something more personal.
although priest do DO things like we do. They like going out to eat AND SO ON... so a gift card might come in handy as well. If you want more of a personal gift.

Did anyone give a gift to the priest, or is planning on giving the priest a gift for the wedding?
If so, what did/are you get him? When did you give it to him? At the rehearsal with the other gifts (bridal party, parents)?
