I’m throwing my friend’s shower this weekend. I don’t know if I should buy her a gift from her registry or not. I don’t want her to feel slided that I didn’t get her something from there (she’s not that type, but I don’t even want the thought to cross her mind)- but I’ve spent weeks (and plenty of cash!) making a custom journal for the guests to write advice in, and have designed recipe cards, paid to have them printed on a laser printer (so they won’t run if they happen to get wet while cooking), and also designed and painted the wooden recipe box, and cut out and decoupaged the divider cards…plus I’ve made all of the food, bought the prizes, the tablecloths, the centerpieces, favors, etc. that goes along with a shower. Should I buy her something from the registry as well? Our finances have been a little tight with paying for all of these items, but I can make room if everyone thinks I should go ahead and get something else. Otherwise I was thinking I could just put a bow on the recipe box…?
What do you think I should do? Also- this is just for the shower. I will, of course, be giving them a gift at the wedding.
