My husband and I are invited to the CEO of his company’s wedding, which they are having at the 8 million dollar estate they rented for the summer. They did not register for gifts. I’m clueless as to what to give them as a gift! usually i give cash, but that doesn’t seem appropriate because #1 it’s my husband’s boss, and #2 they don’t need it. Help!

i think that if they didnt register that means they dont need/want anything i would just get them a card. 🙂

Maybe a nice bottle of wine for an anniversary.

I’d get them a bottle of nice champagne or wine and a card. Or, if your husband knows things his boss likes to do – go that route (ie: fine dining, etc)

i agree with wine/champagne and a card, or have our husband ask other people he’s friends with what they are gifting?

How much are you looking to spend? My friend’s did this as a (bridal shower) gift for me…..I cried :o)
They bought a 6 bottle wrought iron wine rack. There were 5 different bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne. Attached to each bottle was a little card attached by some ribbon on pretty cardstock. Each card read something different…..
The night you have dreamed of is finally here
The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear
You’ve wanted so long to find your perfect mate
Sip this wine and toast this perfect date
The night is meant for you to share
Enjoy each other – a perfect pair!!
When fights occur and tempers get hot
Pour a glass and be thankful for what you’ve got
If you always agreed it would certainly be a bore
And by asking for Krissy’s hand Bernie is surely
in for more!
Been married a year, where did the time go?
No longer newlyweds, now you are pros
Hope the days found you in good health and
Keep saying I love you –
one always needs to hear it!
Now toast this first date, it’s certainly not the last
And as you build your future don’t ever forget
First Dinner Party
Open your home to entertain and eat
Catch up with old friends and new ones to meet
When the night is over share this bottle of wine
But don’t sit down yet – it’s clean up time!!
A wise man said wine is better than beer
And now is the season for lots of holiday cheer
So pop the cork and relax a bit,
And when the night is through,
Kiss goodnight, close your eyes
And Santa will be good to you!
The news that a baby will soon share your life
will make you a mother, not only a wife
You’ll see it through good times and sometimes
______ the loving mother
and _____ the dearest dad
Sadly _____ (groom) must drink this one alone, and _____(bride) with an empty glass
Sit back and relax – nine months will quickly pass!

The was one of my top gifts from my shower – I am not a real sappy person either! As soon as I started reading the first poem, I started crying – in front of 60+ people!! My Bridesmaid or Best Man had to finish reading them for me. It was so thoughtful of them because they picked out each wine that they knew I LOVED – it went w/ some other gifts they gave me as well.
I’m guessing that it was about $100……so that gives you an idea of how much you are spending – and its thoughtful!
