Struggling with what to buy my Future Mother In Law, whom has not really been pleasant to me for the last 6 years that her son and i have been together,
However i do want to give her something as a small token but im really torn
Any suggestions? i dont know what the “norm” is for a gift for the Mother in Law and also, when do i give her the gift?

@beautifullyboheamian: You could always give her one of those ‘thank you for raising the man of my dreams’ hankercheifs or something like that. For some reason I always read those as ‘I don’t like you very much, but thanks for doing something right’- lol. I’m sure some people give it with a sweet sentiment, but that’s what I always think of…
Here’s a pretty keychain with it: http://www.ecrater.com/p/18323246/thank-you-for-raising-the-man-of?gps=1&id=52211034499

@beautifullyboheamian: I didn’t think gifts for the parents were the norm at all in Australia?
I would buy her something that she would like. Shop as you would for her birthday.

I didn’t do gifts but I gave both the moms bouquets. Neither one got the bouquet they wanted for their wedding so I gave them each the one they wanted but never got. It was about the sentiment. My tough ole bird mil almost cried and told me it was the sweetest thing. Maybe you could ask your fh or someone else what would make a great sentimental gift for her.

A framed photograph of you. 😉
Seriously, though, the keychain sounds good!

I’m just planning on a bottle of wine that she and her husband like. Thankfully, as picky as they are, this wine isn’t too expensive.
