My parent’s 25th anniversary is coming up and I’m looking for gift ideas. I was thinking about getting their wedding day VHS tape made into a DVD for them, but I was also browsing etsy looking for some sort of customizable, personal memento. The problem is, my parents are not so into the modern style often found on etsy. Another idea I had for them was an engraved picture frame set- with a photo on their wedding day and a photo from recently.
What have you all gotten your parents for their special days?
(And I would loveeee to send them on a trip… but I can’t swing that right now, unfortunately)

On my parents 25th anniversary I was still in high school, so…gifts with monetary value weren’t really in the “budget.” I wrote my parents a letter which told them 1) how much I loved them and 2) specific ways I thought they had been great parents. I remember I wrote this while waiting in the car for something, so this wasn’t a masterpiece crafted on the computer and copied down, just thoughts from the heart. I happened to be with my mom when she was opening her safe deposit years later and she had *my letter* in amongest her most important documents! I was very surprised and touched that the letter meant that much to them. (She wouldn’t let me take out it to reread what I had written even. Said it was hers! Only phrased nicer than that.)

I think the photo set is a great idea. The 25th anniversary is the silver anniversary so a beautiful silver frame would be perfect.

I gave my parents 25 silver quarters minted in the year the got married (I think it was the last year the made them). If they were born 1964 or before, you could get silver quarters minted in the year they were born.

My parents celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2009. My brother and I got their wedding VHS converted to DVD and we also gave them this book…
I feel like I post about this book alot 🙂 I LOVE it. Just posted the When You Were Born book on the Baby boards yesterday. I think it’s such a neat keepsake.

My parents are celebrating their 35th this May, and I am throwing a suprise reception/party for them. I have had so much fun planning! What about a weekend at a hotel or a resort? The picture sound really nice too.

@jeremys86004: I’m open to anything!!
Thanks everyone, for the ideas. I’m still not sure what I’m doing, but I’m headed over my parent’s house tomorrow to swipe a wedding photo or two, just in case (they’re out of town)
P.S. I just watched their wedding VHS and I cried my eyes out during the ceremony. I’m such a sap

@35thannidaughter: I’d LOVE to send them somewhere, but I don’t have hte budget for that right now! Doesn’t help that I have a 19 year old college student for a brother haha. I’m trying to keep it ~$60 or under…

@Sunshine23: Hi! I just LOVE thier books also, Thanks for giving me the info. I have been at a 25th & 50th Anniversary party and could honestly say that I gave the best gift!!! Everyone loved it and it was the most looked at and awed over gift at both parties. Did you know they now have a new book ….
I gave this to my Grandmother for her birthday(90 years old) and had to order one for my parents even though it wasn’t their b-days yet!!! I might even give this book each to the 50th anniversary couple.
Thanks again for showing me the company!!!

nightcheese: hello fellas!
my parents are going to have their 25 wedding anniversary in two weeks.and though I have already decided on my gift, my brother living in the United states will be unable to attend the party, and so wants to send a gift instead. Please suggest some light weight gifts he can post because the shipping charges are quite high!
will appreciate the help!☺️
