Alright…so I was hoping to get some ideas from some of you ladies on here for parent’s gifts. I know it’s traditional for the bride and groom to get the bride’s parents gifts. Are we each supposed to get them something? Do you buy a gift together for them? I have been thinking of something I can get my dad, (a personalized handkerchief…since he’ll be ‘tearing up’ like crazy), and have thought of a charm bracelet for my mother (since one month apart she will be giving away her only daughter, and gaining a brand new niece(from my brother)). I just feel like those are more specifically from me, and wanted to hear what everyone else was doing. Hope to hear opinions! 🙂

This is a great question, as it is one I am still pondering as well! A friend of mine bought both sets of parents gift cards to various restaurants so they could go out for a couple nice dinners after the stress of helping to plan/pay for a wedding.
It’s a nice idea, but I’m not dead set on it and am still also looking for ideas!

We got my parents a membership to the wine club from one of their favorite wineries, and we got his parents a night at a hotel at the beach. I definitely don’t think you have to get them all individual presents, and I liked the fact that the gifts were things that our parents could enjoy/experience together as a couple.
ETA: We paid for the majority of the wedding ourselves, but both sets of parents also contributed, so we wanted to give them both a gift.

We’re doing a gift cert to a golf resort hotel that is our of my parents’ normal price range. Kind of pampering them for a weekend. 🙂
We’re doing a gift cert to a B&B on J’s parents’ favorite getaway island too; it’ll be less expensive, but they’re not contributing nearly as much.

I got my parents a last name letter art frame. you can find similar ones here: http://www.richdecorstore.com/pd_personalized_name_art_prints.cfm (note I did not go with this particular company but can’t find my exact link right now) They LOVE it!

We are paying for the entire wedding/reception; everything ourselves, so we are still considering whether or not to get gifts for the parents. One of the things that we are considering is a digital photoframe with our engagement and wedding photos loaded to it. We would give them a card with an IOU for the gift, prior to the wedding, and then send the filled frame to them after we get our wedding pictures back.

I would love to hear ideas as well!
I was considering getting my mom a hand stamped mothers necklace from etsy with our names on it (similar to this), but she already has one that holds our birthstones on the front and her grandkids birthstones on the back so I feel like mine might not be as special.
