We have two wonderful friends who have agreed to write a short blessing and read it at our wedding, so I wanted to get them each a little something to thank them.

I have these pouch-y purses from Etsy, but I have no idea what to put in them. They're not really girly, they're athletic, and they're pretty nerdy engineers =) , so I'm thinking that candles, lip glosses, lotions, etc. are all sort of like cop-out gifts. Any ideas?

If you're a joking type personality, you could always put pocket protectors. Or a mini slide rule :P

If not, what are their favourite sports/activities and put something small related to that in there or maybe a gift card to one of their favourite sporting/outdoor stores?

     Good luck!

some nice/pretty hair ties, chapsticks (not lip glosses), an itunes card (music to listen to while running), starbucks card, maybe a sigg water bottle (cute ones here)?  the water bottle wouldn't quite fit in the pouch, but i think it's a perfect gift for an athletic person!

Those are very cute pouchy purses!  Even that alone would be sufficient, they'll be touched because they probably didn't expect anything to begin with.  If you wanted to add something inside, I think a gift card is a great idea and a personalized card from you.

I bought purses similar to those on Etsy not long ago- I filled them with gift cards, fancy chocolates, and cute little tissue packs.  If they're doing your readings, you might consider Barnes+Noble gift cards?  It kind of ties in and no nerd I know would reject a bookstore spree.  :]

Thanks for the ideas, gals! Just a guess, but I don't think they would like a mini slide rule as much as chocolate or gift cards. =) Thanks for all the great suggestions!
