I gave mine a book of letters that I had been writing since we got engaged, and an embroidered hanky. Not a whole lot, but meaningful.
Don't necessarily feel like you have to do some big thing...afterall, he's gettting you!
mine got cufflinks and a book about cuddling positions. We like to cuddle. He also got a nice long note about what he means to me and about our relationship.
I am in the same boat-I have no idea what to give my FI so I'll be lurking on this thread for awhile!
Just because he's getting you something big or expensive doesn't mean you have to do the same, especially since you agreed on something small.
I'm thinking about getting my fiance a big canvas print of our college with a quote on it. I also have some other art-related ideas like a framed map of where we met or important places to us. There's some cute prints and custom stuff on etsy that is sentimental, but doesn't have to be pricy.
My FI sold his baby-a Gibson J185 (guitar) to move here 2 years ago to close the gap on our long distance relationship.
I know how much it meant to him, so ever since we got engaged I've been putting away money when I can in a shoe box in my closet. So that's what I'm getting him for his wedding gift, and I'll probably include a meaningful note/letter =] It's a little pricey, but I know it's something he'll cherish.
I thought I might get my FI a sword. Symbolism of my knight, my protector, the one who fights for me :) .... and I don't think he knows but his name actually means sword.
I will give him the men's version of the watch he gave me for my birthday (then, my birthday with him), and a nice card :)
I'm giving my fiance my paternal great-grandfather's pocket watch, engraved with his initials and our wedding date. It was my grandfather's too and has his initials on it as well.
@FutureMrsBaird - wow - I bet he'll be surprised. My fiance's a drummer, haha - there's no way he's getting a new drum set.
I found an adorable book on Amazon the other day called 'What I Love About You" by Kate Marshall. I am usually pretty tongue-tied when it comes to feelings, so this book is perfect - its a fill-in-the-blank, checklist-type thing. I ordered that, and will fill the whole thing out as a gift. Thanks for all of your ideas - I'm sure there are several other brides out there idea-less like I was.

Hey Hive,
After agreeing to a 'small' gift for the wedding day, my FI slipped up and mentioned that he had something big planned. While my initial idea was to buy the book 'I Like You', and write a letter on the inside cover, I now feel that I need to come up with something equally as exciting. What did you do for your grooms on the wedding day? Any ideas would be helpful - just looking for a little inspiration.
Thanks!
