Gifts for Ushers???

posted 1 month ago in Beehive

Hi Hive!  Question for the group:

We have gotten gifts for our bridesmaids and groomsmen.  (There are 3 of each.)  However, we also have three ushers.  Do we need to get the ushers a gift?  I'm kind of hoping not because we're already over-budget, but I don't want to seem cheap or rude.

Thanks!

We are spending about $10 - $15 each on our ushers.  Just gift cards to their favorite local place and a nice note thanking them.  Since they'll really only have to put in day of prep time and minimal work, I would suggest a nice handmade/written note if you're over budget.  Most times, a thank you is priceless!

I think you do need to get them something and depending on how much you are asking of them and how much of a role they are having in the wedding party should dictate what kind of gift you give them.  If you just told them to wear a suit and tie and didnt make them rent a tux and they arent terribly involved in the day then yes a small 10 or 15 dollar gift should be fine.  However if you asked them to spend 75-125 bucks on a tux and they are taking a fairly active role in the wedding then I think you probably need to spend a little more to show your appreciation and to show them they werent some how second class wedding party members.

We had our ushers dress the same as the rest of our wedding party (meaning they had to rent tuxes) and they were in all of our pictures, at the head table and were basically treated just like everyone else so we got them very similar presents to what we got the rest of our guys.  We spent probably 100 on each guy in the actual wedding party and then 75-80 on each usher.

Thanks all.  Our ushers are pretty involved but they didn't have to rent tuxes or anything.  So yeah maybe just something small... THANKS!

We got out ushers a flask with their name engraved. They were on sale at weddingchannel.com or the know.com. They did not have to rent tuxes or anything. It was just a nice gesture I think they appreciated.

I got some gifts super cheap at red envelope clearance

My attendants are only getting like $30 gifts, but I don't think they will care, since they are actually worth more.  I wish I could spend $100, but I think they would be surprised & say I shouldn't have...
