We really really wanted our clothing steamer, completion of our knife set (we got about 2/3 of it) and wine glasses (we got less than 1/2 of them).
And of course more cash! I wish more people had given us $ instead of being creative and going off our registry.
@Mrs. Alias: I wish we had gotten more cash too! Yes, some people got us some really weird stuff. We got this GIANT silver platter that has handles shaped like fleur de lis - it is really bizarre and I have NO idea what I would use it for nor do I have the space for it! And I cant return it! I decided to put it under our coffee table to keep dog toys and bones in!! It seems like something that was in this woman's house and she just said hmm I dont need this anymore let me just tie some ribbon to it and re-gift it. Worst part is that this same platter was used as our card holder when I had put out a tin for cards beforehand!!!! WTF!
@clarebee:OMG we got a weird silver platter too! Of course I registered for several nice platters, one silver acutally and received all of them but a group of 3 guests gave us this huge weird tarnished silver platter and gave me some long lecture on how to polish it. It was obviously used and clearly being regifted as one of them was going through a divorce. I wanted to say "You could have just give me the $50.."
we got this set of decorative baking dish ware with trivets and cute baskets and lids from QVC. It was a set of like 25 items! I certainly dont' need 10 more baking dishes so we kept 2 sets and gave the rest away. I felt bad but we seriously have no more room and 2 is plenty!
I also got this strange vase from my MIL for my shower. I couldn't return it and it was a rectangular, black/white pottery vase with an off center hole for the flowers. straight to goodwill!
Our KitchenAid stand mixer! Yep, we totally bought it for ourselves after the wedding :)
@Rgeddy: NO WAY!!!!!!! I GOT THE SAME THING!! FROM QVC!! haha! There must have been a special! The carrying case is blue and the bakeware is blue with white polka dots - its seriously hideous! Weirdest part is my aunt gave it to us and for our shower she gave us a really cute pitcher and snack caddy from Crate and Barrel. Wow I cant believe we both got the same awful off registry gift!
