Hello all.. I’m new here, name’s Brittney! I have so many questions, I just had to join!
Forgive me, still getting used to the website & I can’t figure out where to change my picture..
Anyways, my first question is:
What are you getting YOUR mother’s as gifts for contributing to the wedding (if that is your situation)? I really want to get my mom something special, but don’t want to spend a lot of money because if that’s the case, I could have put that money toward my wedding. She has been contributing a lot and I know she can’t really afford it, but she is strapping herself because she wants to make me happy (I’m an only child!).

My parents are not contributing a whole lot [they are buying some alcohol], but they are still my parents so I’m going to get them something.
For my mother I’m going to [finally] get her a mother/kids birthstone ring. She’s wanted one forever.
My father isn’t really in the picture so don’t have to worry about him.
For my step father.. I have no freaking idea!
For my Future Mother-In-Law, I’ll get her a really special photo album from the wedding. I’ll get all the parents one, but her’s will be in a nicer binder, since it will server as her gift.
For Future Father-In-Law, something to do with the navy – he is a retired from the navy.
Also, I plan to do the sand ceremony with this :
We are going to get 4 personalized pourers, 1 for bride & groom, and 1 for each mother. My mother and fi’s mother will pour a small amount of sand in the bottom, as they have been our foundation. And me and fi will pour our colors over that. The vases will each be personalized, and each mother will keep theirs.

@jenilynevette: Sorry to hijack the thread, but where did you find your sand ceremony set? Since it has a closed top it looks exactly what we’ve been looking for!
@Britty18: We are paying for our wedding ourselves so I got the mothers and grandmothers an embroidered handkerchief with their names on it. Its small and they can use it to wipe their tears at the ceremony. Its nothing big since we are on a tight budget! I ordered mine from a company called Great Lookz thru Amazon. They have a website as well at http://www.greatlookz.com with a bunch of old time items, like hankies, parasols, etc for really cheap.

I’m thinking about getting our Moms those embroidered hankies that you see all over pinterest. The only problem is how common they are on pinterest is making me want something more original…
For our Dads we aren’t sure yet. Fiance want’s to get them something golf related, so we might go with that. I want to do something a little extra for my folks since they are contributing so much money and time, but I’m not sure how to do that. Maybe they will also get a photo album after the wedding…

We gave handwritten cards to DH’s mom and my parents, paid for DH’s mom’s hotel room the whole time she was in town, gave my mom (who paid for the wedding) a diamond necklace and gave my mom and stepdad a gift card to their favorite restaurant.
