They use Davids Bridal pictures and pass them on as their own under their "Giovanni Brides" section... I told them about it then they deleted them and said they had no idea what i was talking about.
But I still have the pics.. that were on their website. Their too big to post... but i'll post it eventually.
I contacted Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique about the post that "ale" left and they emailed me an email where "ale" (not her real name) sent Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique an email stating that her dress was "wonderful!" I suggest you contact them too! I don't know what ale's motives are but evidently she didn't have a problem with her dress.
So don't go by what she says.........everything but her comment that I search for about Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique is positive. I don't know what her problem is. I'm sure they will forward you the email as well. I'm going to keep a look out for them because what she is doing is slander!
Seems like you support this Giovvani place a lot, all your comments have something to do with them or other places that make dresses. Why would you need to email them if you already bought a dress and you loved it? I didnt say anything about the dress. What does a dress have anything to do with it?
The still didn't give me an explanation about using Davids Bridal pics!!! Maybe you know since you email them a lot.
It's very clear that this person works for Giovanni Boutique!!! Just read all the posts. It's too funny!!!
This is an opinion and not slander!!!
I'd love to post the pics of this wonderful dress... just need my own computer.
Hey Ladies, while I understand you may be frusterated that they are using the pics that belong to someone else, I'm not sure that I actually care about that.
The question is whether or not the dress actually turned out well. Has anyone used Gioavanni's and had success?
All I am saying is you have to wonder about people's motive! If "Ale" didn't have a problem with her dress and it was "wonderful" as she stated, why spend your time posting negative comments after the fact. Actions always speak louder than words and what you are doing is simply wrong and I don't mind telling you so.
Any one who wants to order from Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique go by their merrit and their work, not by the slander of someone who is obviously bitter for NO Reason, by her own words.
I love my gown, and I had great customer service, feel free to email me for pics of my gown. I truly think my gown is "WONDERFUL" and I have no reason to post negatives when I'm happy with my gown.
See if the gowns were trully wonderful why the need to take Davids Bridal Pics? Maybe because their gowns aren't so wondderful? If the gowns were amazing as this crazy lady above states they wouldn't use other people pics because they would post their own pics. Make sense?
It's clear that the lady above is working for Giovanni Bridal. Just look at all her posts. Can you believe anything she says? Is a car salesman going to tell you the truth? Ofcourse NOT they are trying to sell and make $$$. Whos motive should you be worried about? I am trying to save you $$$ so skip them!!! And if you decide to go with them you TOO will be bitter cuz you'll have to get another dress trust me!!!
Would love post pics of my dress... give me a day or two. You'll see all the cheap beads, poor seams, uneven hem and more.
urtressuremy..... Why dont you put pics of ur dress on here!!! And while ur there email Giovanni or just ask yourself why were you using Davids Bridal pics. Answer my question since you "wonderfull dress makers" never did!!! Waiting for reply. So no more of this my dress is "wonderful" story.
And BBB has no record of them!!!
I got my wedding dress from them and it is fantastic. Instead of paying $900 for the dress from the designer, I paid only $300 from Gioavanni's Bridal. Because I sent exact measurements, the dress fits me like a glove. I teach at the college-level and many of my female students are so impressed by their work that they plan on using their services when it's their turn to get married. I highly recommend them. They create "design-inspired" dresses and gowns and I suppose they are showing the pics as examples. I rather look good at a reasonable price then get my nose out of joint because they use someone else's pics.
See pictures of MY gown. I love it and it's beautiful! Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique did a beautiful job on my gown! From what I can see about the gown above as far as the pick ups coming loose, it happens and can simply be tightened! I really don't know if it was done intentionally to make the gown look bad. I just don't know what to believe because I totally understand leaving a post or two about a bad experience with a company BUT "Ale" seems to have spent alot of her time all over the posts leaving negative comments! It would just seem that she would have something else to or she just has an ax to grind!
I was so excited when I signed on and saw that someone else has had a pleasant experience with Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique! Ale has even emailed me personally (WOW) that's petty! NO, I do not work for Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique, but I might ask them for a job in their public relations department
ALE seems to think that I work for them because I have left messages to others about Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique? But, so does she! Does she work for David's Bridal? I saw the photos of her dress and it's looks bad in some spots BUT who knows what she has done to it to make it appear to look so bad?? Who knows how she did her measurements?? I mean I do have to wonder??
Plus ALE, I am putting you on notice (DO NOT EMAIL ME AGAIN)! You now have someone else who had a positive experience with them to harass!
Ummm YOU emailed me!!! So where is your dress???? Enough with the blah blah let see some pics!!! Cant wait to see it!!!!
The pics ARE the pics of the dress. Yeah I really replaced all the beading with the cheap one and put in that seam in the front of the dress and all the other stuff. Since I have nothing else to do.
How come the dress above is not on their website? Seems weird to me that you would post it here but not on their site... Hmmmmm
Well I got my dress from Gioavonni's and I hate it so much I refuse to wear it. It SHOULD have been a lovely little slip dress with a lace overdress and instead they sewed all the layers together into this hot, totally uncomfortable hideous dress. They made the underskirt (what should have been the slip dress) too short in front, forgot to put the buttons down the sides, put the zipper down the back in wrong, made the overskirt flair out too much and put beads and sequins everywhere which was not part of the original design and I certainly did not request. Now I am going with a simple "boho" dress that I have had in my closet for two years because I can not afford to spend several hundred more dollars to buy another wedding dress. Now my accessories do not match and the whole color scheme is screwed up. I feel really stupid for have ordered my wedding dress online.
I just wanted to let people to know that the pictures ngtaylor posted weren't of her and her dress. Those are pictures of me in the designer gown...Maggie Sottero Sabelle at the store in Omaha, NE. I don't know how she got them, the only people that have them is me, my mom and the people that made my dress.
Gioavonni's did a good job on my dress, it was way better then I had antisapated since I only paid $400 total for the dress. I was scared to open the box and pleasently surprised.
I do hope though that ngtaylor takes the pictures of me off this website. Thank you.
I just joined this board to make a comment. I unfortunately did not have a positive experience with Giovanni's. I tried to find somewhere like citysearch or yelp to leave a comment, but their profile does not exist...so this seems like my only option to put my experience out there.
I really wanted this work, I didn't want to spend thousands on the designer dress I had been eyeing, so I decided to just go for it. $450 for a lace sheath dress inspired by a $3000 designer gown sounded too good to be true - and it was. I followed all their instructions, used their measurment form and had a professional bridal salon that custom makes and alters gowns do my measurements. I spoke with them on the phone on 2 occasions and wrote very detailed instructions on my dress order form.
First off, when I went to the post office to claim my dress with the shipping notice...they had sent me the complete wrong dress! Somehow they messed up my name with someone else's and sent me some other girls dress. That was when the "I shouldn't have ordered my dress over the internet" realization started.
When my dress arrived and I tried it on I was immediately dismayed. The dress was too big is some spots, too small in others, and way too long...not sure how that happend with my exact measurements. There were 2 stains on the lace - a small black smudge on the bottom of the skirt, and a larger yellow stain in the back. This is out of the box, so not something I did. I took the dress to a local wedding seamstess for alterations. Turns out there were a lot of mistakes and problems that I didn't initially notice - like the side seems being off center from each other, making taking it in difficult. Also, they did something weird with the lining under the lace overlay, making it appear as though I were wearing a mini skirt under the dress - there was a very visible seam horizontally above the knee, which necessitated the whole lining being ripped out and replaced. The entire top had to be remade, which thankfully there was enough lace they could cut from the bottom to do - because when I called Giovanni's to ask about the exact lace name/code, or where I could acquire it - I got the cold shoulder and was ignored.
So far I have spent over $600 in alterations and fabric...so my bargin experience did not turn out so. And I was just kicking myself for not buying what I wanted and then selling it after the ceremony. There is a huge market for used designer gowns (check out www.oncewed.com). In the end, I did decide to just scrap this dress and buy what I wanted. I intend to try and sell the altered version of the Giovanni's dress - I only hope I can recoup some of the cost of my $1000 mistake :( Sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to save some other bride the tears and stess this experience caused me.
All the same issues I had with my dress.... the seam in the front that bunched out, cheap fabric, cheap beading, and terrible sewing!!! And the veil, I wish i took a pic of that before I threw it in the fireplace. Hidius!!!
I too went to get alterations and you should of seen their faces when they looked at the dress. The lady right away told me to get a new dress because there is no way to fix this mess and it wouldn't be worth it. Even if I fixed the dress I wouldn't wear it cuz I just had pure hate where it came from and what it looked like.
I just want to scream on top of the world how terrible that place is!!!! Save someone from this mess and stress. Getting married is stressful enough and to go thought that, its insane. They steal pics from other websites and post them as their own. I was gonna write a complain to BBB but guess what they are not registered with them but the website says they do. What a suprise!!! I just want to put them out of business. People should post pics of their dresses THE actual dresses you get from this Giovannis place and not what their pics looks like. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Giovanni Bridal KARMA IS B!T$% !!!!!!
Another blogger the site because after looking and looking for them on BBB I just called and then maybe thats why the site came up but here it is...
RATING: F
Why because they display the logo but they are not members!!!
LOL! This thread is hilarious! Seriously ladies - deal with your beef privately!
Really it's that funny?
So you order a dress pay $350 or however much and the dress is UGLY??? How what Miss Paris? What would you do?
You can't do it privately if you want to save people from this experience!!!
Oh my lord. Grow up. Both of you. Sounds like you both deserve the "hidius" dresses you got.
@Ale - Really? My innocent comment was worthy of an attack from you?
The issues you are hashing out on this public forum are between you and the bridal store. If you want to warn other brides, ONE post describing your experience and your disappointment is sufficient. No one is interested in watching two members bicker back and forth.
It doesn't sound like the company would care at all to get a firmly worded letter from these disappointed customers. It sounds like they'll do as much business as they can under the Giovanni name and then just switch to something else once the bad press piles up. I think it's a bit repetitive on this site, but in no way should they take it elsewhere - this is a big forum and I'm personally glad to hear about places to look out for, so that I don't waste my money.
You should write to the site to get those unauthorized photos of you removed, if that's really the case. It's bad enough they've used copywrited photos on their own website - at least here the moderator can remove them.
Im in love with at least 5 dresses from this site but now scared to order online with them
Their work is so cheap.. so cheap looking. Wedding dresses are expesive for a reason I believe. If it costs $200 some one is cutting corners...
What pissed me off the most is the lady said that my dress is a size 16, except I bought a size 8 dress that I actually wore on my wedding day. They are not so good with mesurements either.

Does anyone know how good they are. I'm thinking about ordering my dress from there. I know there has been one post on here about them but I was hoping maybe more brides have used them since then.
Any info would be great. Thanks
