DH and I are expecting our second child in September — we don’t know the sex and CANNOT settle on names. We’ve had a number of names that we thought we were going to use, but keep changing our mind. Below are the Girl Names that we’ve considered. Please let me know what you prefer.

Hm… Difficult one. Catherine is such a classic name that you can’t go wrong if you pick it. On the other hand, I really like Briana and Mila. I’ve actually suggested Mila as a middle name in case we get a girl (team green as well), but my husband vetoed it since he said it was short for Lyudmila.

urchin: I love Mila and Everly! Both of those names are on our “long list!” We loved the name Emilia for a girl and using Mila as the nickname, but then realized it didn’t sound great with our last name . Everly is still one of my favorite names. I’ve had it on my list of baby names for like ten years!

Everly sounds so pretty and angelic!

Catherine, but I would spell the nn as Cate if you choose to spell Catherine with a “C”. If you want the nn Kate, then I’d go with Katherine as the full name spelling instead. When we were considering doing IVF, with the desire for twins, we considered Katherine as a girl name.

I love Catherine and Mila. Mila got my vote.
Everley is misspelled and uber trendy. At least please use Everly.

I agree you can’t go wrong with Catherine, but it looks strange to spell it with a C but use a K for Kate. My name is Kathryn, but I’ve always gone by Kassie, so I’m partial. I like Everley but it might be considered pretty trendy, but that may not matter. I vote for Catherine, but an alternate spelling.

I only like Catherine, but I really only like classic names. I love Catherine!

The_Future_KB: I believe Prince William’s wife does this. I think her name was Catherine Middleton, but she was Kate with a “K.” I prefer Catherine spelled with a C.

urchin: Even though it’s common and has been for ages, I think Catherine/Kate is a beautiful name and is a top contender for when I have a baby. So I may be a tad partial. Out of them names, I really, really dislike Everley and Briella. As other PP’s have said, Everley is kind of trendy at the moment, which I typically tend to steer away from.

Mrs.Sawyertobe: That’s a good example that people can and do interchange it that way, but I don’t personally care for it. As long as the Mom and Dad like it it doesn’t matter either way!

Briella makes me think of cheese.. Mila is cute and simple

Love Briana! It is on our list of names.

Mila is one of our favorites too. But since we named our dog Mia, I don’t think that will work for us.

urchin: I too love the name Catherine. Very classic and elegant. Mila is pronounced my-lah or mee-lah? Either way that one is cute too. I am not in love with Briella at all. For some reason it sounds very Alabama to me and I’m not into that at all.
brinny04: I agree about Everley being quite trendy but I wouldn’t really say alternate spellings are misspelled. Layla/Leila? Everly/Everley? Not a big deal, in my book. Now, if it were Catherine being spelled Kahtheryne or something totally weird that’d be a different story.
