I personally would probably go with moissanite to save some money. Not very long ago I would have said go with the diamond. But after I received my loose oec moissanite and got to compare it to my diamond, I honestly love the moissy more than my diamond!

emeralcut329:  I don’t understand your dilemma. How would a diamond center stone make the ring look fake vs a moissanite? If both stones you are considering are the same size, it really wouldn’t matter the composition. If you are concerned about the ring looking like costume jewelry, focus on the quality of the stones and not the composition. Either way 1-2 ct center stone with a double halo on a finger your size will be a huge ring, and big blingy rings can look a bit like costume jewelry to some. I agree with pp, that moissanite would be much less expensive, but I don’t think a diamond or a moissanite will make your ring look any less real.

I’m not sure if you’re still interested since it’s been a while since you posted but I have a .5 carat radiant diamond center stone with a double halo and twisted shank. All the diamonds are E in color. My ring size is 9 so if you were to get something similar I’m sure it would look way “blingier” since you’re a size 5.5. Good luck!
