@Payless:  You can always donate it to another bride on Craigslist.

You could also contact your local women’s shelters, or care homes before the wedding to see if they would be interested. Usually there is no budget for that type of thing and it could really brighten someone’s day.

What kind of decor? if you just don’t want to deal with it the venue might just keep it. Some venues offer stock items like vases for future brides to use for free. freecycle.org is a good way to get rid of stuff, or ask your family readiness group, they might either want it for their own use or can help connect you with another military couple who might be looking for wedding decor.

I parsed my wedding decor out to bees here who contacted me expressing interest in where I got my decor.   I also gave away a lot of stuff like mason jars and burlap to a local elementary school teacher to use for her arts and crafts.  I donated my vases to a fellow bride on craigslist.  I gave away my tablecloths to a local community dinner theater.  I had originally intended to sell all of it after the wedding but once the wedding was over I didn’t even want to deal with any of it anymore.
