Led Zepplins - Thank you...
If the sun refused to Shine, I would still be loving you
If mountains crumble to the Sea, there would still be you and me
death cab for cutie: "follow you into the dark"
if heaven and hell decide that they borth are satisfied
illuminating the "no's" on their vacancy sign
theres no one beside you when your soul embarks,
I will follow you into the dark.
Fatboy slim: Praise you
We've come a long long way together
through the hard times, and the good
i have to celebrate you baby
i have to praise you like i should
I have more i'm sure, but those are what songs I'm using in my ceremony LOL:) I hope at least one of them work for you, and if you get a chance, and haven't heard the songs.. youtube them, they are great songs! espcially "thank you" from Led zepplin.
Herman Hess: If I know what love is, it is because if you.
Three poems/readings I like are "Hope is the thing with Feathers" by Emily Dickenson, "How Do I Love Thee?" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and "You Were Born Together" by Kahlil Gibran. You may want to include a couple lines for those...you may even be able to get more than one quote from each. Good Luck, you are ambitious!
@peaches1038: ohhh I love that..
@futuremrskline: LOL ambitious is a good word ;) or nuts! I probably won't end up finding 200 buuuut it's a possibility! we will see, I suppose!
Jewel - Kiss the flame:
"Show me a man who knows his own heart, to him I shall belong"
"I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." When Harry Met Sally
"That's more than a dress. That's an Audrey Hepburn movie." Jerry Maguire
"Somedays I look... I look at you with eyes that shine... Somedays I don't... I don't believe that you are mine..." Somedays - Paul MacCartney
"I bring to you with reverant hands / the book of my numberless dreams" Yeats
This is the one that FH & I use all the time because it describes us perfectly.
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The LORD do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”
From the song Bright Smile by Josh Ritter:
'Just pin your heartbeat up against my heartbeat
And you'll see how well we rhyme'
LOVE this song and the lyrics.
Everytime we touch by Cascada:
I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me
I still feel your touch in my dreams
Forgive me my weakness, but I don't know why
Without you it's hard to survive
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling
And everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly
Can't you feel my heart beat fast?
I want this to last
I need you by my side
'Cause everytime we touch, I feel the static
And everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky
Can't you hear my heart beat so?
I can't let you go
I want you in my life
Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky
They wipe away tears that I cry
The good and the bad times, we've been through them all
You make me rise when I fall
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling
And everytime we kiss I swear I could fly
Can't you feel my heart beat fast?
I want this to last
I need you by my side
'Cause everytime we touch, I feel the static
And everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky
Can't you hear my heart beat so?
I can't let you go
I want you in my life
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling
And everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly
Can't you feel my heart beat fast?
I want this to last
I need you by my side
this is a local band - simplified! check them out they are freaking awesome
but i love these
"It all started with a what's your name,
Come to find you felt the same,
We were dancing in the dark,
And the rain came down but we did not stop,
We had our problems,
Always seemed to solve them,
Even when I was down,
You were always around,
You mean all the world to me" - Sugartree
"Never go away cause I need you,
Need you here to stay,
Twenty years from today I'll be with you,
There's nothing more to say," - 20 years from today
"Woke up with the sun and, I put my hands to my weary head
Got to hit this day running, cause it's you at the very end
Daydreaming about you and the nights that's sure to come
Gonna put my arms around you and we gonna have some fun
Been a long long day, girl I'm on my way
I can't wait to play with you the moon and me
Stars in the sky not as bright as your eyes
Gonna' spend the night just you the moon and me" - you the moon and me
"Big full moon
Long time since noon
Too hard to stand
Blankets in the sand
And a comfortable sigh
Just you and I
Arms around you
Looking at the sky
You got something I need
You got something I want
You got something that's calling me" - six strings and a bottle
We used all of these in a booklet insert for our mix CD wedding favors. (They were set atop pictures of us.)
"My heart, it's like my chest can barely contain it, like it doesn't belong to me anymore, it belongs to you. If you wanted it, I'd wish for nothing in exchange, no gifts, no goods, no demonstrations of devotion- nothing but knowing you love me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine."
- From the movie Stardust
"I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had and no matter what happens to us in the future, every day we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.
- From The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks
You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks - all those sentences that began with “When we’re married” and continued with “I will and you will and we will”- those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe”- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we’ve promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all, every word.”
Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another- acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this- is my husband, this- is my wife.
From Union, by Robert Fulghum
(We also used that quote in our ceremony programs)
"Sometimes your nearness takes my breath away, and all the things I want to say can find no voice. Then, in silence, I can only hope my eyes will speak my heart."
- Robert Sexton
"He smiled, she smiled, they knew right away, this was the day they'd waited for their whole lives, for a moment the whole world revolved around one boy and one girl."
- Colin Raye
Benediction of the Apaches:
Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you wil be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is only one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place
to enter into the days of your togetherness.
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.
"When two hearts race... both win"

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created.
In the art of marriage: the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through all the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in
thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility,
patience, understanding, and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an
atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is finding room for the things of the spirit. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual, and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.
~Wilfred Peterson~
"From this day forward you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter, and my arms will be your home."

Michael Bubble has a ton of awesome love songs...my favorite right now is called everything.
I love the line,"and I cant believe, that im your man, and I get to kiss you baby just because I can"
Enjoy!
@missbiscuit: These all totally made me into a bawl baby. What great quotes!
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." - Moulin Rouge. Best.line.ever.
I have a few quotes that I hold close to my heart.
DMB: The Best of What's Around---"Turns out not where but who you're with
that really matters."
DMB: Crush---"Crazy...How you make it all alright, love. You crush me with the things you do."
John Mayer: City Love---"I can't remember how I found. My way before she came around."
I also second the quote from "When Harry Met Sally." Classic and sweet.
Love is just a word until someone comes along to give it meaning.
Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
The smallest word is I, the sweetest word is Love and the dearest person in the world is you. thats why I Love You.
Love waits for one thing, the right moment.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.
Love is like playing the piano. First you must learn to play by the rules, then you must forget the rules and play from your heart.
At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet.
To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
No three words have greater power than I Love You.
"And in that moment, I swear we were infinite." -The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Book of Love (I heart Peter Gabriel, this was the song I walked down the aisle to)
The Book of Love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts, and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing.
But I, I love it when you read to me
And you, you can read me anything.
The Book of Love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it's just transcendental
Some of it's just really dumb.
But I, I love it when you sing to me
And you, you can sing me anything.
The Book of Love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know.
But I, I love it when you give me things
And you, you ought to give me wedding rings.
This is our song and we used it in our program
1,2,3,4 By Plain White T’s
1,2 ,1,2,3,4
Give me more loving than I’ve ever had
Make it all better when I’m feeling sad
Tell me I’m special even though I know I’m not
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Barely getting mad, I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy, it’s as easy as 1,2,1,2,3,4
There’s only 1 thing 2 do 3 words 4 you
I love you
There’s only 1 way 2 say those 3 words
That’s what I’ll do, I love you
Give me more loving from the very start
Piece me back together when I fall apart
Tell me things you never even tell your closest friends
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
You’re the best that I’ve had, I’m so glad I found you
I love being around you
You make it easy, it’s easy as 1,2,1,2,3,4
There’s only one thing two do
Three words four you, I love you
There’s only one way two say
Those three words, that’s what I’ll do
I love you, I love you
You make it easy, It’s easy as 1,2,1,2,3,4
There’s only one thing two do
Three words four you, I love you
There’s only one way two say
Those three words, that’s what I’ll do
I love you, I love you
(Repeat)
Whatever two souls are made of, his and mine are the same.
Emily Bronte (Wuthering Heights)
I love you so much that if I had never met you I would have dreamed you into being.
Sebastian Chantoix
To love and to be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.

Something-The Beatles
To lead a better life I need my love to be here...
Here, making each day of the yearChanging my life with a wave of her handNobody can deny that there's something there
There, running my hands through her hairBoth of us thinking how good it can beSomeone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there
I want her everywhere and if she's beside meI know I need never careBut to love her is to need her everywhereKnowing that love is to share
Each one believing that love never diesWatching her eyes and hoping I'm always there
I want her everywhere and if she's beside meI know I need never careBut to love her is to need her everywhereKnowing that love is to share
Each one believing that love never diesWatching her eyes and hoping I'm always there
To be there and everywhereHere, there and everywhere
my favorite is love minus zero / no limit by bob dylan
my love she speaks like silence /
without ideals or violence /
she don't have to say she's faithful /
but she's true like ice, like fire /
people carry roses /
make promises by the hours /
my love she laughs like the flowers /
valentines can't buy her
@Ronneykay: LOVE Led Zeppelin! I think that particular song was written about Plant's wife's sister (awk)? Even so the words are so sweet.
OP, check out any of the letters written between John and Abigail Adams. A couple of the ones they wrote before they married are a little racy! (I mean, for the time and place...) Here's a link to find some excerpts....
@DesireeAnne: I second this! Love Moulin Rouge!!
Postal Service "Such Great Heights"
I am thinking it's a sign,
That the freckles in our eyes are mirror images
And when we kiss they're perfectly aligned.
I have to speculate
That God Himself did make us into corresponding shapes
Like puzzle pieces from the clay.
Two are better than one.
oh! and our quote from our wedding, it was on our invitations and stuff...
Two Lives, Two hearts, joined together in friendship, united forever in love!
I just love that, cuz me and the hub were friends first.
Oh and what was that quote from Notting HIll? "i'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her" **sigh** that was awesome.
One of my faves is by Dr. Suess. FI's cousin used it in her wedding program, and I want to use it somewhere for ours.
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams."
:) It's just the sweetest, truest little quote. And who doesn't love Dr. Suess?!
@Ms. Peach: OMG! I love that!!!!! i'm gonna put that on my FB right now:) very sweet indeed!
WOW! thank you all so much!! I'm now going to go compile and print those and start counting ;)
i asked fi and he said
'here's looking at you kid"
you could always google it. or go to tumbler to find stuff
Then we sat at the edge of the earth with our feet dangling over the side and marveled that we had found each other. -- erick dillard
“I am like a falling star who has finally found her place next to another in a lovely constellation, where we will sparkle in the heavens forever.” - Amy Tan
"I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love"
Just Breath, Pearl Jam
One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes. (from the Little Prince)
Love is everything it's cracked up to be. It really is worth fighting for..being brave for..risking everything for.
For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul. ( Judy Garland)
"Someday, when I'm awfully low, I will feel a glow just thinking of you, and the way you look tonight."
(The Way You Look Tonight)
My all-time favorites:
Woman was taken out of man; not out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled underfoot; but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.
And the last, from Sweet Home Alabama:
"What do you want to marry me for anyhow?"
"So I can kiss you anytime I want."
The song 'Everything' by Lifehouse is AMAZING and you could pull a lot from it. I wanted it to be our first dance, but it's REALLY long...
"you are my purpose... you're everything"
Also, Snow Patrol 'Run'
Light up, Light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you, dear

So I'm compiling a list of quotes! I'll take anything - quote, part of a speech, song lyric, movie quote, etc etc. I'm going to use assorted love/romance/marriage etc quotes on 200 different favor bags. No size limit, really. My goal is to have a different quote on each bag! I don't know if I'll be able to pull that off.
I've got close to 50 already, but always looking for more.
Any ideas??
