Giving a succulent as a wedding favor? Cute Fall wedding idea or no?

@ThisYearsGirl27:  If you like the idea of a plant, you could always use African Violets (there are colors that could fall into your palette and that go well with an autumn theme, such as purple, yellow and red). Chrysanthemum are also a good choice and you can have various ”fall” colors, but they are symbolically linked to death. If you’re superstitious, you might want to forget about that idea, lol ! But if the symbolic aspect doesn’t matter to you (they’re beautiful flowers after all !), that could be another idea for a favor.

I think it’s a great idea. Succulents thrive in any weather so I say go for it. And who cares if it’s fall-ish or not…it’s you wedding an if it’s what you want to do then do it.

@ThisYearsGirl27:  Do you have any guests that are traveling? if so, you may need to find out if you can take succeulents on a plane.

I love this idea! I’m not a fan of most wedding favors, but I would be the girl taking all the leftover plants home with me at the end of the night 🙂

they planned on doing that for my daughters shower because succulents have been a major part of wedding, used them on invitations, menu cards, programs. Then my daughter and most of her friends went to a shower 2 weeks ago and that was the favor so they changed it.

I think they’d be a great favor. We went to a wedding where they were given out about a year and a half ago, and I still have both of ours on my desk at work.

succulents are great! I would love to get one…we were thinking of doing it as well, but FI says that one might look odd in a pot. we are going for lavender and maybe mini-chilis 🙂
