My niece will turn 2 next December, and I know my SIL is on the hunt for 18/24 month clothes. I took advantage of the post-Christmas sales and managed to get her tons of things for a quarter of the price.
I thought of making these items an advance Christmas or birthday gift – so she can get the most possible use out of them (some are specifically Christmasy – others would also be good for wear in spring and fall). But…is that tacky? Should I just hold onto them until later? I thought about sending them in August, so in case she’s wearing the larger sizes by then, she’d still get plenty of use.
At the same time, this is a little girl who is spoiled rotten by family – so if I delay, there’s a chance other family members will make my gift obsolete.
What would you do? There are no other girls in the family I could give these clothes.
If I send one of her gifts now, I’m worried my in-laws might forget and see it as slighting if she only gets, say, a Christmas gift next December.
