You just need to be honest ASAP; or you could let them both walk you down the aisle???  If you choose not to include your father, you need to let him know why and that your uncle is very important to you.

What @malouloune said, I would have them both walk you. Another idea however is have your uncle walk you but reserve the father/daughter dance for just you and your dad.

I tend to avoid drama and conflict too. I knew my dad wouldn’t like that I didn’t want him to give a toast, so I called my dad and listed out everything he WILL be doing and the details around it. He figured out that toast wasn’t in there, so when he brought it up, I was able to say that mom is doing that because xyz, but I’m really excited/honored that he will be doing abc-keeping it positive.
