I bought a ton of glass cylinder vases w/varying heights to use as centerpieces (CPs) for my vintage theme wedding. I decided to keep my CPs simple to lower the costs of how expensive CPs can get. So what I currently have planned is to either get clear gems or rocks place them on the bottom, fill it up with water and top it off w/a floating candle. I’m thinking of maybe submering a flower on the bottom, but I’m not sure. Is anyone else doing the same for their CP’s, if so what do you have planned?

David Tutera did a show with the tall cylinder vases and added cellophane wrap and water and topped it off with a floating candle. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

@ash: Yes, I saw that, I definitely want to do that! I’m just thinking cellophane with small fake flowers and a floating candle on top. I think it will look gorgeous!

I’m doing the same and also want a vintage feel but I always thought the submerged centerpiece was a bit too modern.
So I saw this post that used a string of pearls instead of glass beads at the bottom, as well as a little lace ribbon around the outside and thought it was a great way to add a little vintage touch.
