I can't! I'm thinking about doing a similar thing... fall leaves, family together, sounds great :)
I think it could be a nice time, but I originally thought, "everyone could stick around?" If you are having the wedding the Saturday before Thanksgiving, are you sure everyone would be able to stick around? That's a possibility of at least a few days that people around here still have to work and school is still in session. I'm not saying that your family wouldn't/couldn't take those few days off, but it's something to think about. If you could have the wedding the Saturday after Thanksgiving, that might allow more people to join in. I think it just depends on your family and what works best for you. I do like the idea of spending time celebrating with your family!

Originally my FI and I were looking at April 2011 for our wedding date. One day this past Spring before we were engaged I said "if down the line we want to get married, let's do it in the Spring". It was one of those "we're holding hands while running through the meadow" moments, which I respect, but now we're at the point where we're looking forward to getting married and don't really want to wait an extra 6 months. So we're looking at November 20th, 2010.
My thinking is that all of our relatives will be down (or over, or up) for our wedding anyway, so we'd all be able to have Thanksgiving together. Can anyone think of a reason why Thanksgiving being the Thursday after a Saturday wedding might be an issue?
Thanks Bees!
