That's the only way to get it from japan and if you do express mail it's extra 47 otherwise if you are not in a hurry it takes at least a month to arrive without the extra charge. I paid extra and my gocco came in 3 days. I suggest paying the extra $47
I ordered my gocco from northwoodstudios (http://northwoodstudios.tripod.com/). I got the suggestions from couple brides posting on this board. I got my machine within a week, even though I haven't used it yet. :) I dealt directly with Judy and she was very responsive. I think I paid $15 for shipping...believe she ships out of FL.
Thats what I payed for shipping from Japan. And actually, even with the $50 shipping it was still less expensive for me to buy my gocco from over seas... ![]()
I also got mine from a supplier in Japan www.etsy.com look up printaddictjapan. I think you pretty much give and take. You may get the machine cheaper in Japan but you still pay a lot for shipping versus paying more for the machine in the states with less shipping. I think overall etsy was cheaper from my shopping experience.
I actually bought a PG11 from PrintAddict's Ebay store last night! With the $47 shipping, it was about $175. I then spent an extra $45-50 (after shipping) from Northwood Studios for bulbs, masters, ink, etc.
In contrast, a PG11 with a starter pack from Northwood Studios would have been $250 with shipping. Made the choice I did in part for the $25 difference, and in part because this way I got the specific inks I need as opposed to the "starter kit" colors.
And, since we're on the subject, a warning for Ebay purchasers: PrintAddict seems very safe, given their 100% positive feedback rating. But this is actually the SECOND Gocco I purchased on Ebay. The first was from a different seller in Japan. Never arrived. Never responded to my emails about tracking/insurance. And because I was generous with time, it turns out I missed the 60-day window for Ebay disputes.... Which brings me to my Most Important Rules of Major Ebay Purchases -- ALWAYS PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD. In situations like mine, a chargeback may be your only fallback.
Thank you all so much for your responses! My sister is considering getting one and didn't want to be "taken." I will pass on the information and let her know that she can't really get it cheaper in the United States and considering how much it is to order wedding invitations, it is really a bargain!
Thanks again,
Maia T
I bought mine (a blue pg-5!) from printaddictjapan too. She was really helpful and everything was well packaged. I then bought additional supplies from welshproducts.com. They had the lowest prices and the ladies that worked on my order were awesome!
Now i just need to put the darn thing to use....![]()

Hi,
My sister is getting married and wants to use a gocco printer to make her invitations and then to do some artwork, etc. afterward. Does anyone know the most economical way to get a gocco pg-11 in the states? She found one, but it ships from Japan and adds another $47 to the cost of the gocco. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Maia T
