A while back I heard of some gocco demos/workshops at the Paper Source in San Jose... maybe you could try checking the ones near you?
I have the PG11 and when I first got it, I was afraid to use it, especially since I didn't want to waste any scarce supplies and can't read the japanese instructions. In the end, I couldn't arrange a lesson that fit my schedule because I gave myself a deadline to send out the STD's, so I simply watched a few tutorials on youtube and figured it out! You'll really find that there's no need to be daunted.
But, since you want lessons, contact the Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica. If there are no classses scheduled, you can arrange for a private lesson. I think she offered to book a month ahead, I mistakenly thought we could make it happen in a week. This place seems so fun, I hope it sticks around, but it's in a trendy, high rent area. You can even use their equipment, other gocco's, sewing machines, etc, what a cool workshop!

I have had a gocco for well over a year and I am afraid to go near it. Yes, I've watched tutorials but I have the bigger gocco with the two sides and I'd feel more comfortable learning if someone actually showed me. Anyone heard of classes in LA or anywhere in California?
