God knows it probably would have been out of our budget anyway, but just out of curiosity if any 2015 brides (or late 2014 brides!) have looked into doing their wedding here? The hotel is brand new and not officially open yet, but their rooftop space looks like it would be incredibly cool for a cocktail reception. It has a retractable roof and other open areas. Which makes sense in Chicago’s crazy weather. Anyway, we are thinking about booking rooms there for guests and wish it would have been around this year for a possible space (again, even though I am sure it’s waaaay out of ourbudget).

Hi KayDee, I’m curious what venue in Chicago you ended up selecting. We, too, have been looking at hotels like the Wit and the Godfrey and wonder what comparable space you may have selected.

HomeinChicagoHeartinKC: Oh, that’s what we had started with, but then we scaled it back a lot. Best decision we made in terms of stress and budgeting. We are doing a brunch reception at Zed451 in River North. It’s a fantastic space, they’re staff is amazing and for all of their help, it’s a bargain for peace of mind alone. And their brunch is actually better than their dinner. Highly recommended. Can’t believe it’s coming up so soon.
Did you find a venue yet?
