I wear mine to the beach, I just make sure not to do anything crazy with it on.  I’ve also worn it to the pool before.  Generally I’m not doing crazy water sports or playing beach volleyball, so I don’t think it’s an issue.  BUT when FI gets his ring, I’m going to insist that he doesn’t wear it to the beach as he does do all those sporty things.

I got married on a cruise to the Caribbean and my ring is platinum. I wore it the whole time. Platinum is sturdy. Don’t bother with a necklace, I’d be more worried about losing the chain.

I just got back from holiday at the beach and I wore my rings the entire time, no problems at all. It’s only 5 days so I wouldn’t worry about sand damaging it in that short amount of time 🙂 I’d keep it on your finger rather than a necklace, it’s safer if the necklace breaks or unclasps while you’re swimming. Have fun on your cruise!

@bkrocks13:  I brought it with me & left it in the safe when I went out. It was fine.

I wanted to add that if I get any sand in it, I do send it through my ultrasonic cleaner (we live 5 blocks from the ocean, so I’m on the beach a lot – good purchase if you’re going to be wearing your ring to the beach).  You can also just clean it out with a soft toothbrush and mild soap – easier to pack.

I wore my rings (platinum and diamonds) throughout my honeymoon, and we were at the beach every day, went snorkling, went to the pool, etc.  The only trip on which I did not take my rings was a trip I made to a part of the world that is known for a significant amount of unrest and where I would have to go through different checkpoints on a tour bus. I chose to wear my stand-in set for that trip.

Just wear it. It should fit correctly, by now, and I can’t imagine honeymooning with out my wedding/engagement rings. Just make sure it’s insured on the outside chance that there’s a problem.

@bkrocks13:  Yeah I totally wouldn’t worry. I did leave it in the safe a few times as well. But in general I like to keep it on. I keep it on even when I lift weights and stuff. Have fun and enjoy your cruise!

Insure it, that will ease your mind.

I wore my rings on a 10 day cruise (our honeymoon). There were no problems at all.

How about putting it on a really secure necklace?  I’m not into swimming with rings on because I’d be certain they’d fall off.

I just got back from a cruise. I wore my ring the entire time, except when we went snorkeling. When we went snorkeling I left it in the safe and it was fine. I went to the beach with it and didn’t have any problems. I just checked it every so often while I was in the water.

Is it just a platinum ring or is it a diamond ring?

Diamond ring = safety deposit box at home, it doesn’t belong on this sort of trip.
