I said stick with original idea but I also like 2nd option as well…but with the votives. Since 2nd option can be done beforehand then I would do every other table with candlestick centerpieces and the tables left over with the votives (2nd option). What do you think. I too am DIYing my centerpieces. I am a bit anal and prefer setting up the venue my way so that I am not panicking about how someone else is creating “my vision.” I just have to make sure I have enough time the morning of and I should. Plus I am super cheap and refuse to pay for a coordinator lol.

The plaster flowers are great, and I love the dried magnolias as well. Actually, all of these ideas are lovely, but I hear what you’re saying about the set up and take down issues. Can you get a trusted family member or a couple of friends to help?

I think all of your ideas sound like a ton of work, personally, so I voted “other”.

I was also a massive budget bride with no help, so I didn’t use fresh flowers either. Perhaps you could try freeze dried flower petals like I did?

I think the gold magnolia leaf idea is really pretty, but I’m not a fan of the look the table sticks w/ the flowers, or the lamps. I’m not a lot of help really, sorry 🙁

I like idea 2 or just candles in the candle stick w magnolia garland. I spent a lot of time making my center prices for budget and honestly it did not need to be so difficult

@daphnedescends I made a ton of DIY decor for our wedding. You can click on my name and look in my DIY profile. The downfall is its very time consuming and stressful, in the end my vision did not translate through all the people who helped me set up our venue. If you have lots of decor and depend on yourself and the bridal party to set it up you can run out of time very quickly.

We had a lot of different votives and candles, and other things for the tables.  We boxed each table and marked it with the table number and a picture of how the items were to be arranged on the the tables.  It was so easy to set up and after everything went right back in the box.  It was easy and self explanitory.
