I'm going dress shopping for the first time on Wednesday!!

Any tips? What should I bring, wear, etc...

who are you going with? and where are you going? My biggest piece of advice is- try it on anyway. lots of brides are surprised because their dress is not what they had in mind, and lots of stuff looks terrible on a hanger and great on a girl! and post pics when you are done!

I'm going with my mom, MOH, and my aunt who I've always been close to. We're going to a couple different shops around Calgary, AB.

I've got some pictures printed of dresses I like and a list of stuff I DO NOT want in a dress (not strapless, no halter top, etc...) but I am willing to try on anything as long as it's not in that list.

Do I have to wear anything specific??

i wore black panties, so i could make sure i could wear whatever i wanted later on lol. they will have bras and stuff so dont worry. Also dont forget dresses can be altered, i HATE wearing strapless dresses, but mine is strapless, i'm just having them added.

I have never wedding dress shopped in Calgary (thats where I'm from originally) but i'm sure you will have fun!

also at some point try on the most ridiculous dress they have and have your moh try a silly bm dress. I have an amazing pic of me in a bridal bonnet and a huge dress that was totally not me at all and my bms in a variety of metallic plaid/ chartruce dresses. it was the most fun part!

an i'm a little biased, but try Maggie sottero if you can, her dresses rock and they are pretty affordable! (for a wedding dress)

Thanks for the advise! Should be fun... I have a cold so I'm hoping it's gone by Wednesday :-)  I'll post pictures when I find a dress!

I think I have everything in a bag ready for tomorrow... flip flops, camera, pictures of dresses...

Found my dress today!!! 4th store we went into, 1st dress. But about the 50th dress I tried on today. I COULD NOT find anything. I was ready to give up. It should be here by May HOPEFULLY!

Let's see if attaching it works... I resized it to small so it should work :-)

I honestly have NO idea. I was never told and I never asked... I was just SO happy I found something I liked!

I'm also adding straps to it when it comes in.

I was getting frustrated after store #2. Store #3 told me their dresses START at $1200 so I looked around quickly then left. Store #4, we were the only ones in there so we had lots of time to look around. Once I found this dress I tried on 1 other one just to make sure it was THE ONE then I tried this one on again with a couple of vails and went ahead and ordered it.
