Hello ladies! I need help deciding on a rental house, I’m completely torn.
I’m going to Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica with my husband for 3-4 days next month. I’m trying to stick to a lower budget, to save money so we can do more things. I found two rental properties that I love, and they all have great reviews.
Rental Option #1 – I found a great little cottage for $100 a night, which has tons of 5-star reviews from past guests…it has 1 bedroom (king bed) and 1 fullbath, with a small kitchen area and a small dining/living area. Its very cozy and very cute. The outside offers a patio/deck with ocean views in the distance. The price is fantastic, but it doesn’t have a pool. This house is closest to the beach, and closest to other restaurants, stores, shops, etc.
Rental Option #2- This is a huge house, 4500 sqft, 3 Bedroom/2Fullbaths. It has a private inground pool, multiple patios, multiple hammocks, etc. The bigger house is $165 a night. The whole house is open air, which means no actual window panes or screens, just huge windows with security grates…which would be super cool. But also has the potential to get buggy, critter-y, or monkey-y, as there is little to keep the outdoors, well, out. Very private, set on 5 acres of land. But it has lesser ocean views than the smaller property, and is further from the beach, restaurants, shops, etc….and further up the mountain, which would mean that we would absolutely have to get a taxi to get back to the house.
Our plan for that portion of the trip is to just relax, have fun, and soak up the local area. We will not have a car, and will rely on public transportation, taxis and our feet to get us around. We are going in the rainy season, which means that from 4pm-9pm it will rain, and rain heavily.
Which rental would you choose??
