Copenhagen is lovely! My SO and I went there for our first holiday together.

I would recommend going to the Rosenborg Slot – here you can see the Danish crown jewels :)
There is a really good boat trip that goes all around the canals, telling you about all the buildings. It also takes you up to where the Little Mermaid statue is.

We also spent a day at Tivoli Gardens. It’s a theme park but there is an old-fashioned wooden rollercoaster, aquarium, and if you stay until late at night there is a laser illuminations show.

GeekChic: Maybe you would like to see the castle that inspired Shakespeare to write Hamlet? It’s this one called Kronborg, and it’s in Helsingor. Around 45 minutes from Copenhagen with train.

Copenhagen is lovely. I am sure you’ll have a great time & your friend will know what places to take you to…
I liked the Round Tower: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rundet%C3%A5rn

Maybe you want to see the Mermaid Statue as well (it’s tiny though): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Mermaid_Statue
if you’re interested in an alternative lifestyle, check out the Freetown of Christiania http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetown_Christiania

I’ve lived in cph for 5 years now so I have a few ideas of what to do around here. When are you coming over and where does your friend live?
