Notice not “try on” but look. Am going to look around some more and see who carries what styles I like so we can begin to narrow the field down a bit as time goes on.
Target time to buy a dress is mid april.
Got until then to get myself closer to the size I’ll be at the wedding! I am not needing to lose alot, but 20 should be good.
I’m one of those girls who likes to plan plan plan where to go and then pounce on the right thing at the right time!

I’m like you too, Bellenga! I research first…then pounce! =) I did the same thing you did: look first, catalogue (in Excel spreadsheet complete w/ cost, shippping, alteration charges, colors available, etc.). I researched for months. Turns out the 1st dress I tried was the “it” dress. I tried on several others after it but I always felt like a princess on the 1st one. Good luck to you! Enjoy the experience! =)

Thanks Hazel! I’m doing a bit of “recon”now for a while before the pounce happens. I’m going to also grill the places (nicely of course) about prices, any upcoming sales, and make notes of what I do like and what the competition is pricing that same dress at so when the “pounce” occurs, it will be a good $ deal!
I may do the excel spreadsheet too. That puts everything in perspective. Put the money down on the table and you see the hard facts. I like that approach!
I’m going to research the dress shops, make intricate notes of what i like, and then put it down on spreadsheet! Thx Hazel for the incredible tip.

Oh, another $ saving tip on dresses. I wish I’d known this before putting the down payment for my dress. I bought mine at Brides for Demetrios. A lot of my friends who were brides before me told me to remember the style, color, and price of the dress (take picture of the tag w/ your cell phone if you want). Then, contact Pearl’s Place (pearlsplace.com or email [email protected]). It’s a wedding dress store in Louisiana. Ask them if they have the style & color of your dress. And buy it from them. It’s waaay cheaper. The $2,000 dress I got from Demetrios was only $950 from them! I wish I’d known!
