What a fantastic idea!  I’m sure she’ll love it.  I like the third blanket because you could really do fun things with all those colors.  As for color schemes, what does your mom tend to like?  I’d try to match her style.

#2 looks cute but personally I hate doing the popcorn stitch. the ripple patterns are really easy and a god way to work on getting your gauge right.

If you’re not set on those designs why not try a granny square (traditional or non squares) blanket?  An issue I have with blankets is I get  some work done on them and then there’s seemingly 10 pounds of blanket in my lap and more to come. with the squares you make them one at a time and then join at the end.

I love over that third yellow and grey picture.

Live done this blanket a lot. It’s super easy but looks really cool. It would look great in that yellow/grey/white as well

@Woodstock:  I’ve done a TON of those as baby blankets. It’s my go to gift actually. I can whip a baby sized one out in a weekend.

Live done them for a queen size bed as well and they still look cool 🙂

I love all the ones posted. My favorite that you posted, OP, was the second bc I think it’s so pretty and I really like neutrals.

Wish I could do that, it looks super complicated. Maybe I’ll check it out. Thanks for being inspiration!

Good luck with the blanket. I’m sure it will be gorgeous.
