I picked these shoes out way before deciding on the dress. I love them. I know they are funky but so am I. They are also comfy, and just the right height.. I don’t like higher shoes and I don’t like pointy heels because I have weird/wobbly/weak ankles (have broken both ankles more than once) so I need stability in the shoe department.
They were $6 at the thrift store and at the time the dress I was considering had a very 30’s feel so they really seemed ideal. I get a definite 20’s / 30’s feel from them. I don’t think they are that old, but they’re probably from the 60’s. And in my size! (10)! Never happens!
They are vintage and leather and when I did choose the dress I ended up with I was wearing them… they are the PERFECT height to avoid any hemming. The dress I chose has a different look but I still want to wear these shoes.
Hard to tell from my crappy cell phone photos but they are more of an ivory, even leaning towards “bone” or beige, and I have checked out options to dye the leather. It is pretty inexpensive to do and I’ve found plenty of instructions online and color options, so I am not worried about being able to do it but I plan on doing them blue. Preferably a light blue/French blue. Then I’d definitely wear them again after the wedding!
What else should I do with them though? One of the buttons has come off but I’d thought about replacing those anyway, maybe I should go for some vintage jeweled or sparkly ones?
Or simple buttons but maybe some shoe clips?
Open to any other ideas. Thanks! (and I have no idea what those weird white squares are in the picture… maybe something I did accidentally when cropping/resizing). I am seriously camera starved right now, my real one is dead and I am using my son’s cell phone camera.
