Hubby and I are almost TTC…so I guess right now we’re NTNTC. I have my annual appt. tomorrow and I’m drawing a huge blank in regards to what questions I should ask! I’m currently taking prenatals (have been for the past 2-3 months) and I’ve just started charting. Thank you in advance for any direction here!

If you’re currently taking any medications (prescription or OTC), I would double-check with your doctor about whether or not you should continue taking them.
You also may want to ask your doctor about what his/her “policies” are (like at what point of lateness does he/she like to induce, what percent of his/her deliveries end up as C-sections, will he/she be the one to actually deliver your baby (some practices do it as a “whichever doctor is on call” thing)), ask questions about the hospital(s) your doctor delivers at, etc.

Ask her ANY concerns you have. If you are of any ethnicity prone to certain birth defects ask to have your blood work done.
Anything in your or husband’s family history that may cause an issue in future babies bring to his/her attention.
Bring your Prenatals in and show them to your OB/GYN.
Find out what hospital s/he is affiliated with if you don’t already know and make sure you are comfortable with the hospital.

If you don’t have any conditions that would make you high risk (previous miscarriage, diabetes, uterine/cervical issues, irregular periods, etc) then it should be basic. If you do have any of that history, make sure to bring it up. Especially with a previous m/c, it can trigger lots of early blood tests, and uterine/cervical position issues and cycle irregularity can make conception a little trickier. Let your doc know you’re not preventing. They will probably want you to schedule a pregnancy test as soon as your period is a week or so late (or after a + at home test) to confirm. Otherwise, just have fun with your man after you get back from the OB! Cherish the TTC period 🙂 I know once morning sickness and bloating set in, I wanted nothing to do with sex. Get in as much as you can, while you can!
