Hi bees! I was just wondering if anyone has used chargers with plastic plates. I was thinking on using gold chargers with the nice thick clear plastic plates from costco and just wanted to see there were problems using that combo together. I guess I am worried that plastic on plastic might cause them to slip around while people are eating. any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think this might come off a bit strange… charger plates are expensive, and costco plastic plates are cheap. They really wouldn’t mesh together at all…

Lululinz285: Beyond your concerns about practicality, I’m sort of thinking they might just look a little strange together, but I’m not sure I’m picturing it right. Can you maybe post a picture of what you’re talking about to give us a better idea?

I actually have not purchased them yet. But I was thinking the gold chargers from michaels, with the clear plastic plates:
This is going to be a smaller wedding backyard wedding at my grandfathers ranch 50-60 people. more diy, friends and family cleaning up, but I still want to decorate and have things look nice.

Lululinz285: I am not sure how that would look. Maybe, if you want to “pretty” it up put paper doilies under it instead. Like this:
I found these on Etsy.com very cheap.

Chargers are usually for more formal dinners. I think they would be a bit odd used with plastic plates. You can get clear glass plates at the dollar store that would cost less than the chargers.
I was just going to suggest the idea that the pp posted- doilies. They can double as placemats if you write the guests’ names on the doily.
