Actually, I mean it more because my ring, which will also be my wedding band, is white gold (its color is ”silver”). I usually wear cool colors and silver metals because it goes better with my skintone (fair skin with pink undertone). However, I found an amazing statement necklace at Marshall’s today, 30$, well below my budget. I went home and tried it on, it looked perfect. I love it with the dress, and I also happened to find earrings and bracelets in my jwelry box that can all go together (same style/color than the necklace). I will not necessarily be wearing all this, but just to mention, I don’t have to buy anything else, my set is complete.
However, I’m not used to mixing up metals. Will it look weird ? My ring is not very blingy, it is quite discreet compared to the statement necknace, but I’m afraid it might look odd to wear silver and gold colors at the same time. Thoughts ?
The necklace :
Sorry about the bad quality of the pic, it was so dark I had to put the necklace under a lamp, and the lightbulb gave a weird yellowish color to the center stones (they are white actually).
And my ring :

The necklace is really pretty! I think you should wear it, especially since it looks perfect with your dress and you have other jewelry to match. IMO, wedding/engagement rings are permanent jewelry that don’t necessarily need to match the rest of your jewelry.

@NauticalDisaster: I think it’ll look great. Is your dress white or ivory? My e-ring is platinum (tri-tone bands tho) and my colors include grey/silver (not gold) and my bridesmaids will be wearing grey/silver. I think gold statement earrings and shoes go best w my ivory, lace dress and the venue, so I’m doing gold accessories and think it’ll look fantastic. To me the vintage-looking style of your e-ring also looks like it’ll go great w gold.

Thanks ladies !
@Shkragoldfish: My dress is ivory I think ? It’s not bright white when compared to a plain white T-Shirt, but it looks white by itself. The necklace is beautiful with it. The earrings and bracelets, it will really depend what kind of hairdo I’m going for. I’m just worried because I thought I was doing a silver comb in my hair as well, I might want to reconsider that for a white or purple flower or something.

@NauticalDisaster: I agree with PP. I will be wearing yellow gold jewellery on my wedding day (necklace, earrings, bracelet), but my rings are platinum. My day to day jewellery is also yellow gold. I don’t consider my rings to be every day jewellery and I think they are neutral. Much like I consider jeans to be neutral rather than blue!

@linnylou_88: Good point for the jeans being neutral instead of blue. Thanks. 🙂

I mix metals all the time. I even have a RHR that has a gold band and silver face. I think you’ll be fine.
