So I’ve been going back and forth on my bouquet for awhile. One thing I was sure of was that I didn’t want a “real” bouquet because of the expense. (On another hand, since I am getting married in another country customs would not even allow me to take any flowers home!)
I was pretty convinced about the brooch idea for awhile, but as time went on I decided that would be too expensive for something I really wasn’t going to do anything with.
One day I see gold-dipped and gold-tipped roses.
These roses are dipped in laquer and gold or just gold, so they last pretty much forever. I thought I could buy 3 or 4 for my bouquet and tie a pretty ribbon around them. Since one mother will be at the ceremony and the other wouldn’t Fiance and I came up with the idea of me keeping a rose or two and the other two going to the mothers as gifts.
Tack-a-licious or cool? What do you Bees think?

If you’re concerned about the expense, these gold dipped roses are also quite expensive. I was prepared to say that it was a tacky idea but I do like it if you were to give one to each Mother-In-Law and than you always have a special momento.

It’s a bit too much for my taste. I went with high-quality artificial flowers, (think from florist wholesaler, not Micheal’s). Even nice artificial flowers are cheaper than real blooms, (it was $18 for 3 gardenia blooms at the wholesaler; I got enough artificial gardenias to make my bouquet and my girls’ boquets for that), they last forever, and you wouldn’t have to worry about Customs.

I find the gold-tipped ones, in particular, tacky. Sorry!
The gold-dipped thing, well, four roses isn’t much of a bouquet. Would you be able to add in some real flowers for filler?
Consider making your own bouquet of real or fake flowers.
