    @otto2008:  IMO, these look similar but the shanks are different. If you can spring for the extra, I would say “do this”.
    But not if it puts you into the actual real banking red. If it’s more of a “oh hey this money is here but wasn’t really what I was thinking about spending” that’s one thing. If it’s “Uhhh where is that credit card so I can buy groceries” that is entirely different.
    Again, just my two cents. 🙂

    @otto2008:

    These rings strike me as very similar. (Especially if they will both be rose gold, morganite, and cushion cut).

    I see no reason not to take the better deal. I think it’ll be beautiful.

    Always the one she loves.  I would save up more, or ask her if she can pitch in to help.  Finances will all be the same anyway once you are married.  😉

    Why don’t you just tell her about the financial situation ask her if she’s ok with the sub?

    I woul (without contribution) go for the rare earth ring – the reason is actually that the setting looks better to me. The stone is less of an issue (I think at least) but you may also want to consider which of these she would want upgraded more quickly – and I am a little concerned about the softness of the morganite and the slightly different pave appearance.

    @otto2008:  The rounded square of the first halo makes a big difference to me.  I don’t like the second at all but love the first.  They are somewhat similar but the details make all the difference.  Stick with the one you know she loves.

    @otto2008:  both rings are beautiful and similar, but i would try to get the one you both agreed on buying since this will be what she expects during the proposal. maybe you can work out some deal with the etsy seller if you buy wedding bands from them as well?

    @otto2008:  While similar, the settings are really different shapes.  For $200-300 more, I would get the one you know she loves!  Since your wedding date is in 2016, you have some time to save up a couple more hundred. GL!
