I went with Complete Music and Video. They do not offer uplighting.
We used Adagio and had a great experience with them, definitely recommend them. I absolutely hated Midwest Light and Sound because they were sooooo incredibly pushy. Maybe they're fine when they get to the actual event, but trying to get customers? They really need to change their marketing strategy. I actually told them that and got the reply "I'm sorry you feel that way, that's the way we do things here."

They actually have you fill out a survey with what you're looking for and then match you with one of their dj's who is of that style.
I will be using Mia Dorr/Premier Entertainment. They do dJ and live entertainment. I have seen Mia and her people do karaoke, weddings, and jazzy live singing sets and have always enjoyed them. I believe the website is miadorr.com. I don't know if they have lighting, but they could direct you to someone who does, I'm sure.
We're using Bellagala, so far I'm happy with them, havent had the wedding yet tho :)

I got married in Mankato, MN and he traveled for free and was CHEAPER then the DJs in Mankato. He had people on the dance floor ALL night long - I really could not give him a higher recommendation!

Are there any Minneapolis brides out there that have suggestions for a good DJ. I know I want someone who is entertaining but not super annoying. Also I am looking for a company that would be able to provide uplighting as well for the ceremony/reception. I would appreciate any input!
