I've been swimming as much as i can. It's nice to feel weightless, get the exercise in, & stay cool all at the same time. I think aqua zumba is a great way to exercise & it sounds fun!! :)
Pilates!!! I also recommend this book. The pics are cheesey, but it seems legit.
A friend of mine found Classical Stress on PBS http://www.classicalstretch.com/ She said breathing/relaxation techniques she learned from it were more helpful during birth than what she learned in her lamaze/birthing classes.
@firsttimemom: It is! I feel like I live in the pool now. I remember fighting with my mom b/c she wanted to buy me a maternity bathing suit and I said I'd never use it. I was very wrong!
@Mrs. Menard to Be : I know, I love how light I feel in the water. Too bad when I get out of the pool I feel like I weigh a thousand pounds heavier!
@cannotwait: Thanks for the pilates idea!
@BeanPod: That sounds awesome! I've done a lot of biofeedback so I'm hoping those breathing techniques also help me when the time comes.
My husband bought me a DVD that is yoga for pregnant women and I loved that! I also walked a lot through out the pregnancy but especially during the third trimester.
I think swimming is a great idea. I should have done that, we live in a country club and have two pools but I never got into that (I think becasue it was winter time).
I've been walking and doing prenatal yoga steadily throughout my pregnancy and I love them both. Although I was a runner and did regular yoga pre-pregnancy, I really enjoy working out at a slower pace. That's the best part of walking - you can adjust the length and pace of your walk each day to how energetic you're feeling. And I've noticed that walking totally makes the swelling in my feet go down!
@Sulli301: & @lilybay: That's weird, walking makes my feet swell so much more! I think it's a combo of that and this heat.

Throughout my pregnancy I've had trouble exercising. First I was on pelvic rest for some bleeding, and I get awful migraines that are triggered by exercise, and now I'm 36 weeks, and living in fl, so my feet are always swollen and hurt!
Luckily I found aqua zumba! It's exactly what it sounds like, zumba but in the pool. It's awesome. I get a work out, but not all the pain that comes with it. I think it's perfect for pregnant women and wish I found it sooner.
Any body else have good ideas for exercising while pregnant?
